CCC created a Citizens Safety System that track its members when they are in danger

The Citizens Coalition for Change is not leaving anything to chance when it come to 2023 general election including the safety of its supporters. Prompt by the recent abduction and violence in Nyatsime and Kwekwe as well as some parts of Masvingo , the supporters have started an initiative called Rapid Response Network System.

The project is a brainchild of a US based opposition staunch supporter and web developer called Mr. Freeman Chari. He describe the system as a technology solution to help pro-democracy volunteers safely campaign and organize in Zimbabwe.

The About Us section reads:

Our goal is to ensure that the volunteers working for Citizens Coalition For Change are safe and accounted for. When you register to join the platform, we connect you with the leadership and other volunteers near you. In the event that you are in danger, you have access to our Whatsapp, Telegram and Mobile which you can alert. Teams of volunteers close to you are dispatched to ensure that you are safe and accounted for.

When you sign up to join the platform, you’ll receive updates about ways to take impactful action:

  • Recruit citizen volunteers – Help us grow and create a legion of volunteers looking out for each other
  • Donate to a CCC candidate – Pro-democracy candidates are disadvantaged in our country. Citizens Coalition For Change lost government funding and the state has been trying to decimate the opposition. You can help sustain democracy by supporting council, parliamentary and presidential candidates
